Genmaicha Tea
From £4.10
Fresh, Grassy, Buttery
Genmaicha, or ‘Popcorn Tea’ as we love to call it, is an unusual blend of Japanese green tea with brown toasted popped rice. It has a unique and distinctive character combining fresh, grassy flavours from the green tea with sweet, buttery notes from the toasted rice.
A real Japanese delicacy which came about as rice was cheaper than tea, so it was used to bulk out the blends.
Today, Genmaicha Tea is enjoyed for its rich roasted taste and flavoursome baked character. Mellow yet refreshing, this blend is perfect for afternoon or early evening drinking.
