Aquiares Estate in Costa Rica is a historic, 2300 acre farm in Turrialba, known as a leader in sustainability and social responsibility, producing high-quality washed Arabica coffee. Located on the slopes of the Turriala Volcano, Aquiares Estate is one of Costa Rica’s largest and most historic coffee farms. Its history dates back to 1890, where a British family planted the first coffee trees, seeing the enormous potential in the location. Over time, they grew the community to over 1800 people, becoming one of the first farms to export Costa Rican coffee. The farm is Rainforest Alliance Certified and was the first in Costa Rica to achieve carbon-neutral status, utilizing over 50,000 shade trees to protect biodiversity.
