A stunning natural from Ethiopia's Guji region, where blueberry and delicate floral notes come together in a wonderfully balanced cup. It is a coffee that really comes into its own as a filter brew, where all that clarity gets to shine through. Hambela is grown in rich volcanic soil by smallholders where they tend the coffee trees the traditional way, with no fertilisers or pesticides in sight.

Guji has only recently stepped out from the shadow of its better-known neighbours, Sidamo and Yirgacheffe, but its high, steep terrain and generous rainfall are quickly earning it a reputation all its own.

Ethiopia – Africa

Widely regarded as the birthplace of coffee, Ethiopia is home to thousands of indigenous Arabica varieties that produce some of the world’s most distinctive coffees. Coffee is deeply woven into Ethiopian culture and tradition, with its origins often linked to the legendary goat herder Kaldi. Today, Ethiopia remains one of the world’s leading producers of speciality coffee, renowned for exceptional washed and natural processed lots.

Typical Ethiopian taste characteristics include characteristics of jasmine, bergamot, lemon, peach and black tea, with elegant floral aromas and bright citrus acidity.

This coffee can be brewed in a number of ways. Head to our Brew Guides section to master your preferred brew method.Brew Guides
