Heads up: we’re updating our label for this coffee, so your bag may arrive with a temporary label that looks a little different from the photos. Rest assured, what’s inside is exactly the same.

Grown in the Chiapas highlands near Motozintla, this is a coffee of dark chocolate and honey, lifted by a sweet, citrusy acidity and a smooth, gently sweet finish. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, it’s an easy coffee to come back to, whether it’s your first cup of the day or your third.

Mexico is one of the world’s largest producers of organic coffee, and almost all of it is grown by smallholders. Chiapas, in the far south on the Guatemalan border, is home to some of the country’s best high-altitude coffee, grown in the volcanic soils of the Sierra Madre.

Mexico - Central America

Coffee has been grown in Mexico since the late 18th century, and today the country is among the world’s top ten producers. Most of it comes from smallholders in the southern highlands of Chiapas, Veracruz and Oaxaca, where shade-grown trees thrive in volcanic soils. Mexican coffees are prized for being clean, gentle and beautifully balanced.

Typical taste characteristics include milk chocolate, toasted nuts, soft citrus and brown sugar, with a light, creamy body and a smooth finish.
