Lucia Maria da Silva Dias or better known as ‘Tuca’, the producer of this wonderful coffee, is deeply committed to political, social, and environmental causes, playing an active role in shaping a community rooted in strong values and sustainable practices. On the farm estate, which includes 70 homes housing many families, she has initiated a range of impactful social projects that foster unity and opportunity. Among these is the heartwarming ‘Child Being a Child’ initiative, which gives children the chance to simply enjoy being young through family cooking classes and hands-on gardening. Tuca also invests heavily in her team’s growth, offering coffee education programs including cupping and product knowledge for workers across the fields, terraces, and processing areas. Her dedication has cultivated not only exceptional coffee but also a workforce that feels empowered, valued, and connected to the land and its future.
Brazil is known as the most abundant coffee producing country on the globe. An average of 200 million coffee plants grown in these lands and are responsible for producing 1 million 59kg bags per year. In order to harvest this amount of coffee and still meet the requirements of the specialty coffee market, a powerhouse of technology and science are applied on these farms.
