At Hacienda San Ignacio, environmental stewardship is a core priority. Currently, 57% of the estate’s total area is dedicated to forest conservation. Coffee cultivation is carefully integrated into the landscape, with large, dense forested areas serving as vital biological corridors that support local biodiversity.
For the past seven years, the farm has participated in the FONAFIFO-MINAE forest protection program. Through this initiative, and with the continued commitment of ECOM, over 156 hectares of forest have been preserved—underscoring a long-term commitment to sustainable agriculture and ecological balance.
